Last week was a scorcher! With temperatures soaring, our main priority was ensuring your beloved dogs stayed cool and safe. We switched up our routine to keep everyone comfortable and happy. Instead of the usual long walks, the team at Gemma and Jodi's Pet Services Ltd. made sure to pop in frequently, allowing for a quick wee break and ensuring every dog had plenty of fresh water. When a walk was necessary, we chose shaded areas, equipped our furry friends with Pawdaw of London cooling coats, and carried ample water to keep them hydrated.
Why Hydration Timing Matters
Did you know that encouraging your dog to drink immediately after lots of exercise isn’t always the best idea? While it’s crucial to keep our pets hydrated, gulping down water too quickly after intense activity can lead to a condition called water intoxication or bloat. Both of these can be dangerous for dogs. The key is to let them cool down a bit first, then offer small amounts of water gradually. This helps prevent any unwanted health issues while ensuring they stay refreshed and hydrated.
Big Moves and New Beginnings
Exciting news on the horizon! Over the weekend, Jodi and I made a significant move, both literally and figuratively. We picked up and relocated to a brand-new space, which now serves as the official Gemma and Jodi's Pet Services Ltd. Headquarters. That's right—we've taken the plunge and gone limited! The move was a whirlwind, and we worked hard to catch up on all the messages from the weekend. If we missed any, please let us know—we want to make sure everyone is taken care of.
Welcoming New Friends
At the start of this week, we had the pleasure of meeting two lovely new additions to our Pet Services family: Poppy and Ziggy. These adorable pups will be joining us most days during the summer holidays, and we are beyond excited. We can’t wait for them to make new friends and join in on all our adventures. Poppy and Ziggy, get ready for a summer full of fun!
Upcoming Hikes
We have some fantastic hikes lined up, and there are still a few slots available for your pups to join in the fun. However, we are fully booked for the following dates: July 10th, 15th, and 19th. If you'd like to book a spot for your furry friend, don't hesitate to pop us a message. We’re looking forward to exploring the great outdoors with our canine companions.
Looking Ahead
As we move towards the end of the week, we’re gearing up for a unique live-in experience. Typically, these involve your furry friends joining us for all our regular walks. However, this time we have a special guest—Stan the Sausage Dog—who prefers some cozy one-on-one cuddle time. From Thursday to Monday, Jodi will be dedicating her time to Stan, ensuring he gets all the 'love and care' he deserves. Don’t worry though, the rest of the team will be out and about, providing all the regular walks and activities for our other pups.
